New York — In December 2004 I advised clients that Advanced Micro Devices was in trouble.  It had, I said, “a lot of work to do: with a management grade of F, a complete management makeover is in order.  AMD is not ready to compete with Intel.  Intel is a much better managed company and gets my A- grade.”  Well, AMD was then trading at $22 as was Intel.  Intel still trades in that range.  But AMD has lost 85% of its value.
